Join My Women's NCAA Tournament Group
The Hoopla Groupla is back for round two, and I am ready for revenge
Hello friends, it is about that time of the year once again.
For the second year, we are doing The Hoopla Groupla, an ESPN Women’s Tournament Challenge group where you can compete against me and fellow women’s college basketball heads to see who has the best bracket.
The reward? The joy of victory and, if you beat me, a shoutout in a future Hoopla. I apologize that I don’t have more to offer you.
The link to join the group is HERE. If you want to look it up the old fashioned way, it is The Hoopla Groupla 2023 (NOT THE SAME GROUP AS LAST YEAR).
No password, one entry per person, and make your bracket name what you would like to be shouted out (be appropriate you sinners) if you do indeed beat me.
Unlike other tournament groups, there are two paths to victory and a future shoutout:
If you beat me in the classic ESPN scoring.
If you correctly predict where more Big Ten teams finish than me.
Last year, 12 people beat my ESPN score, and two people predicted more Big Ten teams correctly than me. This year, I expect those numbers to be zero and zero, but who knows!
Those winners, if there are any, will be named in a Hoopla following the NCAA Tournament. Good luck to all of you, and good luck to all the Big Ten teams going dancing.
Less importantly, but also an option, is that you can join my Men’s NCAA Tournament group, Cedi OsMadness. That one is for money — it is a $10 buy-in that can be sent to wcrosher on either Venmo or CashApp. That one has payouts that go as follows:
4th and 5th place: $10
3rd place: $20
2nd place: $60
1st place: The rest
For last year, that first place prize was about $600.
If you are interested in joining this, all it takes is the $10 fee and a way for me to send you the group info and password (Twitter DM works for me). As far as Hoopla is concerned, this is a side thing, and no promotions will be done here. But, you can follow the group’s Twitter, @Cedi_OsMadness for all future updates if you were interested in that.
Next week, it’s all about the NCAA Tournament. Monday will be about the Big Ten women’s basketball side of it. Thursday will be about my picks in both tournaments. I am so, so excited.
